Diverse scenkaraktärer summerar 2014 - Ciaran (Johnny Asbo & The Young Guns m.m.)

Paco avrundar 2014 med att låta scenkaraktärer från Sverige och utlandet enligt ett standardiserat formulär och ur ett subkulturellt perspektiv utvärdera 2014. De "intervjuer" som är gjorda med icke svenskspråkiga har jag låtit bli att översätta, såväl för att spara tid som för att inte omedvetet färga svaren.

Ciaran är en gammal räv som spelar och har spelat i ett gäng hårdkokta orkestrar; bland andra Retaliator, Tattooed Motherfuckers, London Diehards och inte minst egna projektet Johnny Asbo & The Young Guns som stod för ett av årets bästa släpp. Det tycker i alla fall Paco. Det här är vad Ciaran säger:

Best gig of the year:  There were some good gigs but some of the best were: TMF / Pitbullfam / Hooligan UK / No Quarter - Blackpool, The Bronx - Sonosphere, July 2014 Last Resort at the Boston Arms, Agent Bulldogg, Bedford Esquires, Katagorie C, The Firm, TMF - December 2014. Madball, Underworld Camden

Biggest disappointment of the year/worst release: The Business at the Boston Arms December, 2014. Really poor compared to what they used to be like live.

Some other thoughts on the scene of 2014? Some great gigs being organised without the intervention of the PC Mafia in the UK and in Europe which is promising. A few good releases too such as Skinfull, Citizen Keyne and Offensive Weapon coming out stood out as being great.

Did something special, bad, sad or spectacular happen? The death of Colin from Running Riot was a terrible shame. I know its been said before but he really was a top fella who I had the pleasure of sharing a stage and also drinking with on several occasions.

What's your plans for 2015? The new TMF album which was due to be released this year should be out next year, along with another project we're working on. There's some European gigs lined up for TMF and we're hoping our bass player won't get thrown out off the plane for being drunk. There's a London Diehards album due out too at some point. It's recorded and the artwork just needs finishing off so watch out for that. There's also some Johnny Asbo and the Young Guns stuff coming out too, probably a split with another band.
