Music Release of the year: I haven't bought too many new Oi! releases this year, maybe nothing too special have arrived or I have just been too busy because of my job to check new releases and bands. Still there are few 7" in Oi! scene which needs to be mentioned: Maraboots latest 7" "ils ont tué la oi" is a great one! I have really loved this band since I heard them first time and if I understood right this will be last 7" what they release. It was great to see this band playing in my hometown in the start of this year and also this last 7" was release what I really waited and It did not disapoint me, it was as good as their former releases. I also need to mention Sabotage 7" "Betraktelser Från Staketet", it includes best song of the year "Bättre utsikt" and I'm really waiting to hear more material of this band! About punk bands I've been mostly listening Finnish ones. Kaupungin Valot (City lights) released their debut LP this year "huomiseen" (into tomorrow) and it is one of the best finnish punk LP's ever (really!). I have been listening to it almost every day since they released it and It have only good songs on it. If you like old finnish punk bands like Ratsia Or Kollaa Kestää, you should check this out, very catchy tunes, similar to old finnish 77 and I'm very proud that they're coming from same town as I (tampere).
Best gig of the year: Best gigs was Komintern Sect and Templars at PSK. It was awesome to see two of my favourite bands during same weekend. PSK is a great festival and I will go there every year no matter what bands there are playing, but last year was best one because of these bands.
Biggest disappointment of the year/worst release: I only waited those few releases from this what I mentioned and they we're great, so I don't have any disappointments to mention.
Some other thoughts on the scene of 2014? Did something special, bad, sad or spectacular happen? No not really, mostly it was just typical year in my opinion.
What's your plans for 2015? We're now recording new stuff with my band Tammerfist and I'm really hoping that we will get somekind of release out during next year. Because of some personal reasons, some of our members have been kind of busy and we haven't found too much time for our band, but hopefully there will be more time on 2015. Also, as a gig organizer we (tampere bootbois) are bringing Condemned 84 to our hometown Tampere on next february. Gig place is small and tickets are already sold out, so now we are just waiting for next february, it's going to be great party!
